Our town is a deer-friendly place, and you can't walk more than a block without coming across deer relaxing in someone's yard or eating off their trees. Each summer, the speckled fawns are out, and one has been chilling in our yard almost every day. They have no fear of humans at all, which makes it rather fun to have deer so close. This buck sauntered through the other day. Come to think of it, they act like they own the city a bit. Maybe if we lived her year-round, we'd be annoyed that they eat our flowers. But for a few weeks a year, we would love a whole herd of them in our yard.
Mostly sunny weather has been on our side so far, but we welcome chilly days. It does equate more coffee. Plus, when else can I wear my fabulous pair of boots without sweating in them?
